Recipes de lo Mio: About Me

About Me

Welcome to the About Me page, de lo mio! Bienvenidos!

My name is Estefani and I am a young Dominican woman who is passionate about food and my Dominican heritage. Consequently, I have embarked on a remarkable journey of creating a food blog about me with a dual purpose: to wholeheartedly share my love for cooking and to pay tribute to my beloved mother. She has been my guiding light in mastering the art of preparing authentic Dominican dishes.

Throughout my upbringing, food has consistently played a central role in our cherished family gatherings, fostering a strong bond on my culinary aspirations. As a result, I have wholeheartedly embraced my mother’s culinary legacy. Consequently, my blog serves as a platform. This allows me to showcase the richness of Dominican cuisine while sharing these recipes to a diverse and engaged audience.

I’m excited to create a space where people can learn about me and the rich culinary traditions of the Dominican Republic, and where I can share my own unique take on classic dishes. Whether you’re an experienced cook or a beginner, I hope my blog will inspire you to explore about the vibrant world of Dominican cooking and to celebrate the flavors of our culture. Undoubtedly, thank you for joining me on this journey! Follow us on Instagram for even more mouthwatering inspiration along the way!

About Me: What is de lo mio?

“De lo mío” is a common phrase used by Dominicans to refer to someone who is part of their inner circle, such as close friends, family members, or people from the same neighborhood or social group. It’s about a way of expressing a sense of belonging or camaraderie, and for me it’s often used to indicate that the person being referred to is trusted, respected, and considered to be part of the same community. The phrase can also be used to describe a strong sense of loyalty or solidarity among people who share common experiences or backgrounds. In essence, “de lo mío” means “one of us” or “part of our group.”
